Privacy Policy

MacroMatrix FX ("we", "our", "us", or "the app") is a macro-analysis app for iOS and Android. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Data Controller
The data controller for MacroMatrix FX is the app's publisher, operating from the United Kingdom. For all privacy enquiries, data-subject rights requests, or complaints, contact us at 3xdey2ns@gmail.com.
2. Information We Collect
- Push notification tokens. When you enable alerts, your device generates a push token. We store this token in Firebase Firestore (Google Cloud, EU region) so we can deliver notifications to your device.
- Anonymous user identifier and routing metadata. The app creates an anonymous Firebase Auth user ID on first launch. This pseudonymous identifier, together with platform, time-zone, and device-routing metadata, is used to verify your subscription entitlement and route notifications to the correct device. It is not linked to your name, email, or a hardware serial number.
- Subscription entitlement. When you subscribe, Apple App Store or Google Play provides us with a signed receipt that we verify to unlock paid features. We store a subscription tier flag (None / Starter / Pro) and the receipt's expiry timestamp. We do not receive your payment details, name, billing address, or Apple ID / Google account email.
- Analytics and diagnostics data. Firebase Analytics may log screen views and product-interaction events such as paywall views, purchase events, notification opens, favourites toggles, and preset changes. Firebase Crashlytics and Google AdMob may also collect crash, performance, and technical diagnostics data to help us measure usage, improve reliability, and serve and measure Free-tier ads. This data is pseudonymous and is not used by us to identify you by name.
- Advertising data (Free tier only). The Free tier is ad-supported via Google AdMob. AdMob may collect your device advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, AAID on Android), coarse location, and ad-interaction data to serve non-personalised ads. We do not enable personalised advertising and do not implement Apple's App Tracking Transparency (no tracking prompt is shown). Starter and Pro tiers see no ads.
- Alert preferences and favourites. To deliver the alerts you enable, we sync selected notification settings to Firebase Firestore alongside your push token. This may include favourites, per-pair alert toggles, alert thresholds, quiet-hours and session filters, calendar reminder settings, release-shock preferences, and your current entitlement tier. Other app state may still be stored locally on your device.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To deliver FX macro alerts, calendar reminders, and release-impact notifications you have opted into.
- To apply your selected alert thresholds, favourites, quiet hours, and other notification-routing preferences on our backend so alerts behave consistently.
- To verify your subscription status and unlock the appropriate tier of features.
- To diagnose crashes and performance issues and improve the app.
- To serve non-personalised advertising to Free-tier users (via Google AdMob).
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Legal Bases (UK GDPR)
- Contract: processing your subscription entitlement and delivering requested notifications (Article 6(1)(b)).
- Legitimate interests: crash and performance diagnostics to keep the app working reliably (Article 6(1)(f)).
- Consent: push notifications, advertising data collection on Free tier, and (for EU/UK users) the advertising consent shown via Google's User Messaging Platform (Article 6(1)(a)).
5. Consent Management (EU / UK users)
Before the Free tier requests ads, users in the EU/UK may see a Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent prompt asking whether you accept the identifiers used by AdMob. You can change your choice at any time from Settings → Privacy options. If you decline, you will see only non-personalised ads.
6. Third-Party Services and International Transfers
- Google Firebase (Firestore, Cloud Messaging, Cloud Functions, Analytics, Crashlytics, App Check, Anonymous Auth): pseudonymous app accounts, real-time score data, calendar events, push notifications, usage analytics, crash reporting, and backend entitlement verification. Governed by the Google Privacy Policy. Data may be processed in the EU and the United States under Google's Standard Contractual Clauses.
- Google AdMob + User Messaging Platform (Free tier only): serves non-personalised ads and manages EU/UK consent. Governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
- Apple App Store / Google Play: handle all subscription billing. We never process payments directly. See Apple's Privacy Policy and Google's Privacy Policy.
7. Data Retention
Push tokens and their associated alert-routing preferences are retained while you have the app installed and notifications enabled. Stale tokens reported by Firebase Cloud Messaging are automatically purged. Subscription entitlement records are kept for the life of your subscription plus 24 months for audit purposes. Anonymised crash reports are retained by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days. You may request earlier deletion at any time — see Section 8.
8. Your Rights (UK GDPR)
Under UK GDPR you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
- Right of access — obtain a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification — correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") — ask us to delete your data.
- Right to restriction of processing — ask us to stop using your data while we investigate a request.
- Right to data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Right to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing already carried out.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint if you believe we have mishandled your data.
9. Security
All data in transit is encrypted via TLS. Firestore and Firebase services are protected by App Check (Apple DeviceCheck on iOS, Play Integrity on Android) to prevent unauthorised access. Backend access is restricted to authenticated and verified app installs.
10. Children's Privacy
MacroMatrix FX is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted by updating the date at the top. Where required, we will notify you in-app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
